Something spooky this way comes…. with the explosion of fright fests and a season of ghostly and ghoulish events popping up across the country to celebrate all things Halloween.
The UK Halloween events industry has grown exponentially over the past few years, following in the footsteps of the US and emerging as a vibrant and dynamic sector that captivates audiences of all ages. Here at Relative Luxury, we’re big fans of Halloween, and we’ve put together a list of our favourite Halloween Events across the country.

About Halloween in the UK
Thanks to the country’s rich history of folklore and tradition, as well as many historic landmarks wanting to capitalise on the typically slower winter tourism trade, Halloween has evolved from a niche celebration to a mainstream cultural phenomenon.
Today, it encompasses a diverse array of events, from haunted house experiences and ghost tours to themed parties and festivals. This industry not only celebrates the eerie and mysterious but also boosts the economy by attracting tourists, creating jobs, and inspiring creative innovations. As the autumn nights draw in, the UK transforms into a hub of spooky spectacles, enticing thrill-seekers and families alike to partake in the enchantment and excitement that spooky season has to offer.

Celebrated annually on 31st October, Halloween is a holiday shrouded in mystery and intrigue, with roots that trace back over two thousand years. With ancient pagan origins marking the end of the harvest season and the onset of winter, many religions believe the boundary between the living and the dead is blurred on this night, allowing spirits to roam the earth.
Statistics for the Spine-Tingling Season
According to research conducted by Censuswide for Finder in October 2024, the UK’s spending on Halloween is expected to rise to a staggering £776 million this year alone, almost doubling the amount that households spent back in 2019. A quarter of the UK adults surveyed said that the spooky scares and seasonal eats make this holiday their favourite.
As a millennial brought up with a joy for everything ookie-spooky, including a personal love of the seasonal classic, Hocus Pocus – I can absolutely support the statistics that show we are the generation likely to spend the most on Halloween activities – with 80% of those surveyed planning to spend something to celebrate the scary event!
Statistics from ticketing platform Skiddle show just how valuable this has become over the last decade, with recent estimates suggesting the UK Halloween events industry is worth approximately £400 million annually. This valuation includes spending on themed events, attractions, costumes, decorations, and related activities.
