Established in 2017, Relative Luxury is a blog from a Scottish based sunshine chaser, occasional traveller & lover of exploring new places. Providing inspiration on luxury travel, lifestyle and menswear brands, and daily life – Relative Luxury shows how working hard the majority of the time doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the nicer things in life.
If you strive for life’s little luxuries and memorable experiences, this is the blog for you. As someone who has always had to work hard for things, I’ve always appreciated the small things that matter.
It can seem like everyone around you has it all, when you’re struggling to make ends meet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dream big. From a generation of over-sharers and permanent optimists, I’ve learned over the last few years that sometimes life doesn’t quite lead you in the direction you had planned.
We’re not all born lucky enough to experience some of the most exciting places in the world, but if you work hard and remember to keep in mind the things that mean the world to you – opportunity for luxury is out there. I’m no expert, or a professional travel writer. I’m not a style guru, photographer or model. I’m your average, hard working guy, but I’ve come to realise that there’s things worth enjoying out there, and a whole world of opportunities that can be seized if you set your mind to achieving a goal.
After graduating university in 2016, and going into a job that I thought would set me up for a future career, I soon saw that there was elements of that environment that I wasn’t enjoying, but writing blog content was something I was beginning to really enjoy. So that’s when I thought – how can I turn that enjoyment into something that can help me to develop more skills on my own terms while working hard in a job to pay the bills and fund those all important future experiences.
